Edit VARBINARY fields as Text?

Is it possible to edit fields of type VARBINARY as text?

In the current version (7.x), fields of this type are displayed as hex.

I have fields that have to be VARBINARY but they almost always have ASCII printable characters in them that I have to edit often.

If I can find a solution to this, there will be no reason for me to hang on to my old copy of MySQL Front. :)

You can try the "View binary data as text (instead of HEX)" toolbar button. It's the one that has a red "0x" icon.
