Error 2003

Can anyone help me with Error 2003 Can't connect to MySQL server on 127.0.0.1
It also asks for a User name and Password on the Session manager. I am trying to use a DoL database for DAoC. I am following the instructions found on this website. http://www.dolserver.net/articles/?article=2
Can anyone help me out?

the mysql database server rejects your attempt to connect, possible because of missing username and password.
when you install mysql, its installer will ask you for a "root password". use "root" as User name for db access in heidi, and the Password you chose in the installer.
