Auto-expand databases

Mary Bonney posted 2 years ago in General
Is it possible to have a database auto-expand when opened. Some of mine do, some don't, but since I always want to expand it anyway to work on the tables, it makes sense to expand automatically.

You can doubleclick a database, or click the plus sign.

Some time ago, databases were expanded on click, but that seemed to annoy quite a few users, so I got a change request for leaving the tree in a more normal state.

Could you add something in the Preferences, or maybe a setting for each session, that would expand the database on starting the session?

I guess we're talking about different things here. When I start a session, HeidiSQL selects the same database as I did in the previous session. That does it because I activated
Tools > Preferences > Misc > "Automatically select previous database".
Do you have that option activated?

I've got "Restore Last used database" which I guess is the same. The database appears - that is not a problem. It's just that the database will often appear collapsed so that I have to double click on it to open. It's a minor thing with such a great program but it just seems such a annoyance because 99.9% of the time, you want the database expanded to work on it (unless you had several databases open in a session). It just seems more logical to have a database open in an expanded view and to collapse it if you wanted to, rather than the other way around.

Ok, I misunderstood - that's indeed a valid question. Let's put a rightclick menu item in the tree's popup menu. Could you be so nice and write that down as a feature request with one or two sentences in the bugtracker? http://code.google.com/p/heidisql/ Thanks!
