Hey Anse Just wondering how I would export all data (settings and connections) from one installation of Heidi on my desktop to my laptop so I dont have to re-set up all the connections? Is is as simple as File >> Export (or Import) settings? Reason I ask is that when I have done that it doesnt 'work' Thanks Jamie |

Yes that should work. One thing I would recommend *before* you export is, that you update to the latest build (Help > Check for updates). I recently worked on this export function, e.g. the file format has changed from a Windows Registry file (.reg) to a homebrown .txt file, which can also be used for running HeidiSQL in portable mode. |

The import overwrites existing sessions and settings, but will not delete those not present in the file. |
