Feature request: select default scheme

Hi,

I switched to HeidiSQL and currently I'm only missing one feature. In my connection settings I use only scheme. Is it possible to pre-select that scheme after connecting? I often open the query window and get the error "no database selected". Well, of course, I only missed *ONE* click - but everytime.

Just go to Tools > Preferences > Misc and activate the third checkbox from top "Restore last used database on startup".

Hmm... that's so obvious. HeidiSQL should do that by default, and remove that checkbox option. Or..?

ansgar, the checkbox is already set.

What I did:
1. Select and open a connection (I put it inside a folder)
2. Click database in tree
3. Close HeidiSQL
4. Restart HeidiSQL and re-open connection
=> Database is selected => works

BUT:

1. Select and open a connection (I put it inside a folder)
2. Click database in tree
3. Click on parent folder of that connection in tree
4. Close HeidiSQL
5. Restart HeidiSQL and re-open connection
=> Database is not selected => :(

Yes, HeidiSQL should select the scheme by default if only one scheme is available.

No no, you misunderstand something. Your "BUT:" recipe includes a click on the connection node - the parent node of a database. This is what HeidiSQL also restores the next time. You should just not select the connection node. And why are you doing that before closing HeidiSQL?

I chose the connection node just for testing. It is ok if HeidiSQL restores the last selected node, but I don't want to select the database node manually if only one database is available.

So HeidiSQL should select the database automatically if only one database is available (independant from the tree selection). You could also add an option for connections called "default_scheme" to select the database tree with that name after opening the connection.

No, that does not make sense to me. You only need to select it once and then HeidiSQL selects that database automatically the next time(s).
