Query Results in Bottom Status Bar?

A slick feature would be a way to allow for a user-defined query to be ran on some interval and have its results put in the bottom status bar (near 'Uptime' info). I would (personally) like to put 'SHOW TIMESTAMP_UTC()' on that panel (executed every 30 seconds or so). Thanks!

On slave connections - I could perhaps put 'Seconds Behind Master' on the status bar...
