Tried HeidiSQL for the first time (used to Squirrel) and made a "select * from Table" with 55 million rows. Must say I was surprised to find out that there was no default LIMIT, and that I made the product crash in first attempt, within seconds.
Have tried to find if there are any global settings for this, without success. Are there?
Missing this parameter is a show stopper. The risk of starting queries without the LIMIT parameter is to big.
Otherwise it looks very good.

LIMIT rows as default setting value?
Thanks , but I'm sorry to say it made no difference.
Tried 1000 with max 1000 (step , maximum) and tried again. Still working and 12 GB of memory used.
If I extend the select with LIMIT 1000 - no problem an instant respons.
Must say that squirrels easy to change this parameter is very useful. (Input field in the query area)

That setting is for the Data tab, not for user defined queries. HeidiSQL does not touch user defined queries. If you want to select a million rows, HeidiSQL will not stop you from doing that. Otherwise, use the data grid, which has more internal logic, more safety functions and less flexibility.
Thanks. If I wanted to select a million I would just set the limit to 1.000.000. In my opinion it is risk, with high probability, and should by default be avoided.
And, must be one of the easiest things to implement.
But, anyhow, thanks for the answer. Good to know that there was no obvious settingalthough also a pity.
