ConnectionString parameter with HeidSQL?

Hi together,

is it possible to set a connectionstring parameter to connect to a sql database with heidisql? In my case I need the "ApplicationIntent=ReadOnly" paraemter.

Is this possible? I did not found any parameter field at connection manager.

No, HeidiSQL has all supported parameters in the session manager with their own control. Connection strings in HeidiSQL are for MSSQL only, so I guess you are on MSSQL?

Hi ansgar,

yes I'm on a mssql 2014 server with AlwaysOn cluster. So I need the ApplicationIntent parameter for the connection to the reporting node of the cluster.

Hi Ansgar, thought I'd check in since last comment on this was 3 years ago. We just migrated over to Azure SQL and are db admin is asking us to use the ApplicationIntent=ReadOnly parameter, as well. Has this been made possible yet? Thanks.

No, you cannot yet add custom parameters to the connection string.
