Please offer me suggestions on learning to use Heidi. I have a cursory understanding of databases and MySQL. I'm webmaster of one site using MySQL DB's. I performed Queries previously and loaded data at one other site. Now I want to use Heidi. Web Developer I paid already started me off with the DB I needed initially. I didn't find anything in FAQ on "Introduction" or on "Getting Started". Where can I get an introduction (webpages, downloadable PDF, or even some chapters in a book I can buy). Thank you for any help and suggestions. |

There is no HeidiSQL documentation as far as I know. Apart from various tutorials on the 'net using HeidiSQL for their own purposes. There's not that much to it, though. If you have a database already, connecting to it, picking a table in the database browser on the left, and choosing the "data" tab in the right hand side of the window should get you started.. |

If you created a database, you were obviously already connected to a server... So, what did you put in the "Host" field that time before you created the DB? |

Isn't that obvious enough in the connect dialog? Basically: - hostname or IP address - username - password |

How do I open a results tab or window for queries? I'm probably missing something obvious, but I don't see any commands on the tool bar, or items in preferences or under tools in menu items. (I'm using 6.0.0.3975 on Windows Vista.) I also would find some sort of introduction like a FAQ or help file handy. |
