I can't connect now. I did connect before I scanned my computer and eliminated some temp files. I now get the following message:

SQL Error:Can't connect to MySql server on 127.0.0.1 (10061)

Anyone have an idea to connect to MySql server.

Apart from removing temp files, did you restart the computer or stop the MySQL service? That's the error message you get when there isn't a MySQL server running.

Open a command line window and type:

net stop mysql
net start mysql

Or open your control panel > services and find the MySQL service. Restart it by clicking the restart button.

Start the server with the authentication system disabled (--skip-grant-tables), connect with HeidiSQL, in the user manager set your own password for root@% so you can authenticate in the future.

Update mysql server .conf file, set port to another address. Restart mysql server, and use the new port to connect. It should be working fine then.
