Save Query? prompt

Is there any chance we could get an option to turn off the Save Query prompt when closing HeidiSQL?

My computer has been prevented from shutting down or logging off more times than I can count because HeidiSQL is asking if I want to save a query (no, I don't... ever) when it is being closed.

Just press Ctrl+W for clearing/resetting the editor before closing HeidiSQL. No other way I'm afraid.

I'm going to make another request for this. I have had my laptop battery die on several occasions because I thought I was shutting the computer down, only to find that there was a HeidiSQL window open that I didn't know about and it was asking me to save a query that I didn't want to keep, and thus preventing the computer from shutting down. Generally speaking, if I want to save a query, I'll do it myself, and the reminder to save it by HeidiSQL when shutting down is extremely annoying. Especially on Windows 7, where the window is obscured by the "Waiting for applications to close" screen so you can't even see the prompt or click on it to get it to go away.

It also gets in the way when updating the software. When I have multiple HeidiSQL windows open (always) and I try to install an update, every window asks me to save the query, and the updater continually beeps at me every second until every prompt is acknowledged and cleared.

Can you please add an option to turn off the prompt to save queries?

djdjohnson++ I would recommend saving warning to be optional and move to options for user to decide what to do with itsmilehappy

Think that's what djdjohnson meant when he said "Can you please add an option...".

Sounds reasonable.

Yes, I'm asking for the option. I realize that a lot of people would prefer to be asked to save queries, but there are probably a lot of people like me that remember to save our queries on our own and the reminder just gets in the way.

Make prompt to save modified SQL text customizable. See http://www.heidisql.com/forum.php?t=6373

r3544 finally makes this prompt customizable. See Tools > Preferences > Miscellaneous > "Prompt to save modified files on tab close"

Well, the tab was renamed and/or moved - no wonder after 8 years.

See screenshot for what I meant in 2010.
