error in date field?

I created a table yesterday and set one of the fields to be a date field..

then I went to the data tab and started inserting data, when I got to the date field.. every date I tried entering (in the standard YYYY-MM-DD format) told me invalid date.. even when I tried using the "insert date" option from the right click menu.. was that just a glitch on my end, or is it a bug?

The grid presents data according to the local regional-settings for date, time and numbers which can be checked in the "Control panel" - "Regional settings".

So, if this is set for example to the german standard-format "30.12.2006" then you should be able to edit and insert date-data in this format. Don't know exactly how the date is presented in other countries, but you will know that for your own language:)

so you mean that because I'm in the USA, it will only allow me to enter the date as mm/dd/yyyy ? I much prefer the way it was handled in mf 2.5 :P

maybe an option in preferences?
