In regards to the HeidiSQL installer: are application settings, such as all the connection listings, still stored in a non-portable location (I think they used to be in the registry) or are they in a simple config file in the latest version? |

They are and they've always been in the Windows registry. You're probably confusing the installer with the portable version. Both are available in the downloads section (though I'm not sure if the portable version is currently maintained). |

Yes the portable executable is exactly the same as the non-portable one. Except for one textfile in the portable zip package. The portable version just stores and restores registry settings into that textfile. |
