HSQL not opened 2. open huge mysql dump (entire db) file with heidi 3. not editor/ run it directly / 4 after that HSQL opens automatical ,in order to see anything in data tab - HSQL has to be restarted. About encoding, probably not HSQL - problem, but anyway advice needed: 1. my sql dump file has some strange characters forinstance 'Ĺˇ' should be 'š' 2.if I import that it comes out in hsql as 'Ĺˇ' 3. open file in some editor, change text encoding zo UTF-8, and 'Ĺˇ' shows as 'š'. Save file, import again , and same thing, it pops up in hsql (database) as 'Ĺˇ'.
