Search & Replace by column

I'm not sure if this is a bug or I am doing something wrong??

The Search and Replace dialog always says only 'in Data Grid' next to the 'Search In' drop down. I would expect it to allow me to select a single column in here. It will not let me enter anything else in this field.

I realise I can do this using SQL but it is easier in Heidi interface and my wife can work out how to do it :-)

The search/replace dialog is designed to work on either a data/query grid or an SQL editor box. You can restrict it to do a global search or on the selected rows, but not to a single column. You should indeed run some UPDATE query in the query tab.

Being able to search/replace on a single column would be a great enhancement, and I suspect not hard for you to implement?

There is definitely a level of users (my wife for example) who do not know what SQL isbut like to edit the data in a database.
