uninstalling heidisql does not seem to clean out everything

something has gone quirky with my heidisql ... so I uninstalled it and re-installed it. When I opened the new install, heidisql already had some fields pre-filled with info from my previous install ...

I want to completely uninstall heidisql ... any suggestions ...

You can use regedit.exe to delete the Software/HeidiSQL key.

... I see that you are the author of heidiSQL ... nice work ...

my problem with heidisql is due to 3rd party software that I installed, a kiosk software called SiteKiosk, onto my development computer (winXP) .... SiteKiosk added a protective shell around the OS (because in museums, that protective shell is necessary to prevent the general public from compromising the computer).

Ever since I installed it, heidiSQL hasn't worked ... and the SiteKiosk team is not acknowledging any liability on their end ... so I have just been living without heidiSQL for about a whole year now ...

I look forward to using it again :)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOO HOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was the registry entry I think ....

I uninstalled heidiSQL again, and used CCleaner to locate any remnant registry entries ... it found 1 (I should have written down the name of it);

then I installed heidiSQL again .... however I did install your 9.1.0.4867 ... whereas I had been re-installing my older 8.##### version.

so either the remnant registry key or the 9.#### version made the difference ...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! happy
