show connection at startup

Hello,

I'm experiencing a slow gui start time (approximately 12 to 30 seconds) for hedisql to display a dialog box if the system is off of the internet but connected to a local lan. After the dialog box is displayed, the application behaves at a normal speed. By going to the about box, (which checks to see if the email address has donated, amongst other things) experiences a similar delay before the system timesout, saying that the system could not check donation state. If possible, have a "do not perform any online checks to heidisql.com", under the preferences menu.

Have you tried to remove the email address from the about box? Probably also the update check is activated, under Tools > Preferences > General.

Thank you. By removing the email address from the about box, the startup time was reduced... I didn't think that it was doing a live lookup each time. ++
