show all special characters as option

Hi there,

sometimes when importing from other sources quite "funny" characters are imported with the data. Mysql trim() doesn't help much since it only removes spaces (not tabs, newlines, etc.). I'd very much would like to see an options where you could trigger (what a lot of text editors have) a view where all characters would be shown with symbols so one could easily recognise that there is something else than a space character inside the data.
