Unable to install Heidisql 11

I had been using Heidisql 10 and had not problem running it. I just installed Heidisql 11 'successfully' but unable to run it. After selecting a session (from those set up in Heidisql 10) the screem disappears and the icon on my tray for Heidisql aslo disappears. When looking as task manager, it shows that Heidisql is running. BTW I am running on Windows 10. Anyone experiecing this problem, any suggestions?

I went back to HeidiSQL10, same problem. Then back to HeidiSQL9.5, ok not problem working like before. What have I missed in 10 & 11?

Oh I see, Win10 - oversaw that.

The only situations with a running heidisql.exe without visible window where reported - as far as I recall - a previous multi monitor setup. So when you disconnect a second screen, HeidiSQL may start at an invisible position. But in these cases the task bar button was still visible, so your issue may be different.

Just to be sure, you should probably reset window positions:

  • exit all heidisql instances
  • start regedit.exe
  • navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HeidiSQL\
  • delete the 6 values starting with "MainWin" (there may be less than 6)
  • restart HeidiSQL to see if that helped

Hi ansgar Thanks for the tip. Got it working now. Yes remove the items from the register before installing a new copy. Hope we are getting through the Convid-19 lockdown without stress.Stay safe!
