Paste as plain text (without newline)

Hello..

I'm working on something where I'm pasting certain values from an Excel table. Is there a way that Heidi can be configured to strip the "newline" when pasting?

By that, I mean when I paste "Hello" from Excel, Heidi pastes

"Hello [newline]"

I currently need to use the "F2 twice" "text editor" to manually remove the new line.

It would be brilliant if there was an option such as SHIFT-CTRL-V where it pastes text with newlines without the newline character.

Currently HeidiSQL just pastes what you have in the clipboard, as it is.

Of course I could remove trailing new lines, maybe also trailing spaces and tabs. Even trim the text from all kinds of spaces on both sides. I'm just not sure if that's always a good idea. Though I also found these trailing new lines a million times in my life, so I also suppose there must be some fix, finally.

If there was a way of have it paste removing trailing new lines, that would be great.

I suspect a few people would welcome it :)

(I would, for one)

I suggest you use a clipboard manager that trims whitespace on copy.

Good idea - it's a handy workaround. I'm using the freeware portable Clipboard Manager.

That said - I'd still like to see it as a built-in option in Heidi :) (something like CTRL SHIFT V)
