I removed IPv6 DNS records on heidisql.com this morning, to work around some spam problems. Afterwards I had problems here too in the update check. Meanwhile it works for me again. I suppose you just need to wait one or several hours until your DNS is synchronized and calls heidisql.com with IPv4 then.

But i have to say that this problem has been around for a long time.

Oh really? Then this was probably unrelated. Though probably I fixed exactly that issue by removing ipv6 - could be that ipv4 is supported in the underlying Wine/Internet connectivity. You could check tomorrow, just to be sure you get the ipv4 DNS record only. Or check yourself on the command line:

nslookup www.heidisql.com

I have to tell you that my PC is behind a proxy; May be i have to configure something into wine ?

The IP is correct, so I can just guess your proxy may not allow you to connect. Or maybe it's the wininet library, provided by Wine. Some forums say wininet can be installed separately using winetricks?

To be honest, I have no clue.

I also have a similar problem, I think this is a technical part of the update or it is blocked by something.
