Table editing and shortcuts

Hey all, Just started using HeidiSQL and it looks very powerful from first sight.

Just wondering if there is a shortcut for when you're editing a table, that you can press to add a column instead of clicking the button above the column editing part.

Also, I'm wondering why I can't press tab or enter to jump to "Datatype" from "Name", would certainly be very useful if I could jump between the columns instead of having to use the mouse between each action.

Cheers Chris

Second question is solved.. when I press "enter" to close out the editing of for example the "Name", if I press tab and press F2, I get into editing "Datatype" instead.

If that sentence makes sense ;)

That non working tab key in edit mode is a known bug, and should be solved for the next release. See #937. After updating to the latest build you should already see a better working tab key.

For the "Add" button on the table designer, there is indeed no keyboard shortcut currently. Not sure if it's worth adding one.

Thanks for your reply! I see, then I'll have a look at that.

Shortcuts are always worth it, for productivity :) But honestly, I don't know if its hard or not to implement as I've never really worked with Windows programs.

But if you'd feel like it, I'm sure more people would find it useful.

Again, very powerful program with lots of features that I haven't seen before and up until yesterday I've only used MySQL query browser from MySQL - which is far outdated ;) And that software, as far as I know, has no shortcuts what so ever.

However, when adding new columns, you could just arrow down to a new empty "row" and start typing to add a new row.

Which is why I kind of "missed" it in HeidiSQL.

That in no way makes the program not usable, you just have to get used to how this program works, but as I saw the forum and it feels like its a quite close contact to the creator - You - I thought it would be "fun" to help out and suggest features.

Again, it doesn't make the program useless without it, but would be a nice feature :)
