ERD recommendations?

First of all, I have to say that Heidi looks amazing. I have Dbeaver community installed, but it's massive overkill for my needs. THANK YOU for developing and maintaining Heidi!

I searched the forums before posting here, so I'm not asking for a feature addition or enhancement, I hope this related question is ok. As I said, I really like what I've seen of Heidi and think it will be ideal for my hobbyist purposes. But since it doesn't include ERD functionality, I thought I'd ask for recommendations. What doe Heidi users recommend for ERD, especially free/libre and ideally local not cloud. I'm thinking that if I get an overview with ERD then I can use Heidi to actually build the database.

I found a solution that may be of interest to some: I use Joplin and it has support for Mermaid, details at joplinapp.org in case anyone else is looking for a simple solution

That depends on your DB, since many programs won't support all DB types. Hackolade has a ton of supported DBs and free version that is browser based. I think the forward/reverse engineering is only in the paid version. You can use MYSQL workbench for SQL but also model not SQL relationships.

I wish Heidi would add graphs since that is the only reason I don't use it and only stop by every few months like today to see if it was added.
