Hi there,
when working with HeidiSQL (connected to a MariaDB database) I often have to resize the column widths in the "Data" tab as the column headers are sometimes truncated, making the field names undistinguable if some database table fields start with the same letters. This often happens if there is an index on the corresponding field and/or the table is sorted by this column, because in these cases some additional symbols are shown next to the column headers. Surely, I can resize the column widths with the mouse, but if I click on a different table and back to the first one, the column widths are autosized again, i. e. truncating some column headers.
Have I missed some settings which mitigates this problem? I have found some very old forum posts touching my problem (e. g. topics #4714 and #16291, trying to post the full links here leads to error messages here) but without a real solution. I would even be happy if I were able to set the column widths once manually and be sure that they don't get touched again unless I decide to change them for some reason.
My environment: HeidiSQL 12.11.0.7065 on Windows 11 Professional (24H2).
Thank you.
