Note: You can get a preview release of v13 for Windows, built on the same codebase as the Linux version. See the download page for a zip package. Just unpack it into your existing HeidiSQL directory. Both versions can be used in parallel.
On top of the changes in the Windows release, the new Linux release has a ton of changes. So this Linux release comes a huge step closer to the Windows version. Some notable things:
- drag'n drop supported in table editor and session editor
- basic MS SQL support through FreeTDS lib (with issues)
- select encoding in file-open dialog
- select line-breaks in file-save dialog
- XML reformatter in text popup editor
- quick filter > "more values" submenu available
- new keyboard shortcut editors on preferences dialog
- full support for classic Silk icons
- support SSH passwords via sshpass
