need help

hey, i have looked around the fourms and i havent seen anyone else with my problem. i used heidisql before but uninstalled it. when i try to re-install it i get an error message saying:

"Error creating registery key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/uninstall/heidisql_is1

regcreatekeyex failed; code 5.
access is denied"

anyone know how i can resolve this problem. help is much apreciated

First and foremost, make sure you have ADMINISTRATIVE PRIVILEGES when you're signed onto your machine.

If you are in fact signed on either as the computer Administrator and/or a user with Administrative Privileges, then you need to do the following:

Start RegEdit. Navigate to the registry key that's being denied. Right-click that key. Select permissions and set them any way you like. You may need to set yourself as the owner of the key first to able to change it.

Exit RegEdit. Now try to re-install HeidiSQL.
