Sql Error (17) Server does not exist or access denied

I get this error with every session configuration I attempt. HeidiSQL is installed on my Windows 7 work station (I'm logged in as a network administrator during these attempts). MS SQL Server 2008 R2 is Installed on our Windows Server 2008 R2 machine. I have an ODBC connection to this SQL server that I'm using Create, Drop, Select, Insert, and Update queries on with no problem. I the Heidi session configuration, I've tried named pipe and IP and every authentication method using the server administrator password to no avail. Any suggestions much appreciated. |

"Server does not exist" sounds a lot like you entered a wrong hostname. |

I got it! I had port 1433 blocked. |
