Ubuntu Weird Black Boxes

Hey,

I am using Ubuntu 14.10. I always get these strange black boxes, and sometimes I can't edit fields. I am using Wine 1.7x, I previously had Wine 1.6.x and I thought an upgrade would solve it.

The weird part is that on my laptop it doesn't do this which runs Ubuntu also. This also doesn't happen on my VirtualMachine running Ubuntu.

Could this have to do with my Video Card Driver? I have an MSI card and I don't use their drivers because it causes more problems than anything.

Any ideas? :)

Some time ago I fixed the toolbuttons with a drop down arrow for Wine, like the "Refresh" button on the main toolbar. These are TToolButton's with a "style" property set to "tbsDropDown".

The buttons you mentioned above are normal TButtons with "Style" set to "bsSplitButton". I could not find anything on the net which mentions some Wine fix for these.

Thanks for the reply! I will add that running Cinnamon for the UX in Ubuntu has no problems at all, it runs exactly like in windows!

You don't have the black boxes on Ubuntu? I still see them.

With: Ubuntu 15.10, Wine 1.9.4, HeidiSQL 9.3.0

Solved. Look at:

No need to go on Cinnamon.

Ps.: this thread is found in Google results. So I thought it's interesting to share with.

Thanks.
