Annoyingly intrusive Donate button

First Off let me tell you that I'm very grateful for this nice piece of software. I especially like the non-bloatedness and low memory usage.

OK that being said, I think the animated PayPal Donor button is quite irritating and distracting. It is impossible to concentrate when trying to design a database schema in the application with the flashing donation text at the top-right corner. It is very distracting and I wish there was an option to a) hide it or b) at least turn off the constant changing of the text label. It's like a banner ad to be honest.

I'm already planning to remove the switching between different labels, as this is probably causing a graphical issue on Windows 10 boxes.
