  • SQL = Structured Query Language
  • HeidiSQL = the name of a client application for MySQL, MSSL and PostgreSQL

Two totally different things, like apples and air.

It's like the difference between English and Katy Perry.

SQL is the language that HeidiSQL, and thousands of other client programs, use to communicate with the SQL server.

HeidiSQL is a tool for working with SQL server databases, using either GUI functions or SQL statements.

Perhaps you can say that SQL is like English and HeidiSQL is like Microsoft Word. You use the latter to write and edit stuff expressed in the former.
