How do I change the language on HeidiSQL GUI

Hi

By default I get my regional setting language (spanish) however I want to change it to English. I've looked on Preferences/Settings and everywhere but I am unable to find it. I also checked the internet and no instructions found. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks! Obviously I didn't read the fields text properly... I was looking for the word 'Spanish' but the field said "Auto-Detect" which confused me, I guess.

No problem. Thanks for the update!

Hi seems that this is a FAQ worth - I found many hits with this problem. ;)

... perhaps it could also help to write it in bold on the settings page?

Additional to this my question is a little different:

I like to have the GUI in e.g. German, but it would be nice to have the MySQL output "normal" in english

  • for better reading
  • in my case the developers I am working with can speak much better english than my default german output ;)

Bests

This forum uses Markdown syntax, and is driven by Parsedown.

The MySQL output is shown as the server sends it. Errors are by default returned in english, but a server administrator can change the language on the server, as documented.

HeidiSQL itself can only be affected with the Application language setting on the preferences/general tab.

The MySQL response actually depends on the language setting for GUI ...

After switching the GUI to EN I get also EN MySQL reponses.

=> therefore the idea/future request to get the language settings splitted into GUI / MySQL language parts.

Our servers running "clearly" in EN default also with UTC time ;)

Bests

(Syntax parser hint only because I need e.g. a doubled newline in editor to get a single line break in the post... a br/ or p html tag didn't work either.)

Can't believe that. There is a HeidiSQL GUI language setting, but nothing is send to the server to synchronize the server language with the client language.
