I was working in a DB using HeidiSQL running in Windows XP 2002 with SP3, Connecting to Mysql 5.5.8 running in Windows 10. From one moment to another I could not open Heidi and I have no idea why. Any help will be appreciated

Your client Windows is "Windows 8 x64 build 9200", at least that's what the report textfile says. It's not "Windows XP 2002 with SP3", or?

Also, your HeidiSQL version is old: 8.3.0.4694. Please use the latest build before reporting issues.

Hi, thanks for your answer. Windows XP 2002 with SP3 is where the MySql Server is installed. Hiedi is running in Windows 10. Client and server are not in the same machine. Access is remote, into the LAN but remote.

The Heidi version is old because I installed an old version just to tried a different one, because the error begins with the latest version. I'm not sure if the error begins right after the installation of the new version.

I'm installing the new version and I attach the bug report whit this latest.

Ok, thanks for the update. However, the crash is happening when accessing the registry through KERNELBASE.dll. So, I assume you got Windows updates or something on your client machine before you got the crash for the first time?

It could be that Windows Update have installed some patches. I don't remember 100%. May be there is a cause effect relation between a Win upd and the crashes. Do you thing I would try to restore to a previous instance?

You could try that. You can reapply the update afterwards when you see they did nothing, or when you know the cause of the issue.

Well, problem was solved (for now at least!). I'll tell what I've done so it can help someone else.

  1. I restored my Win 10 from a Restore Point done automacally at Nov 29th.

  2. I tried Heidi and it worked ok.

  3. I uninstall Heidi version 9.1.0.4867 from Control Panel.

  4. I dowloaded and installed Heidi version 9.4.0.5125

  5. I tested and it still works fine.

So, I'm waiting for the automatic trigger of Windows Update with my fingers crossed.

Thanks a lot for your fast and kindly replies, and the follow up.
