Can't Connect to MySQL Server on...

I'm getting error 10061 when I try to connect to my server through HeidiSQL now. I had updated Heidi last week and then again, today to see if something changed, but it's not letting me in. Nothing on my end or on my server changed. I verified I should be able to get in, using MySQL workbench, so it's definitely Heidi.

The odd thing is that I just ran a version of Heidi that was much older and I'm getting the same error. Is it possible my webhost is the cause? Why would it work for MySQL Workbench and not for Heidi?

Your session in HeidiSQL and Workbench must be differently configured.

I don't think so. All the settings appear the same. Port, Server, prompt for user

It's definitely not a config issue on my part. All the settings appear the same. The only thing that changed was an update of Heidi that I did. If it was the server, I wouldn't be able to get in with MySQL WB. Not sure what other conclusion to draw other than something changed in a file that Heidi uses that I can't find or see.

Then you could try a downgrade on HeidiSQL. Probably the newer libmysql.dll is problematic.

I thought so too, so I did downgrade and it didn't work. That's Why I think it might be some file Heidi uses that I'm not seeing.

You should watch out for libmysql.dll, definitely. Although you may already did a downgrade, the dll file(s) could be not overwritten by the installer for some reason. You could grab the one from Workbench and copy it to the HeidiSQL directory.

Or use a libmysql which was previously shipped with HeidiSQL:
