Windows 8

I installed Heidi on new Windows 8 computer. Trouble shooting indicated that Hiedi, though successfully installed, was incompatible.. no particular reason given.

Is there a version that will install properly ? Are custom settings involved? If so, what are they?

Never heard that before. I saw HeidiSQL running smoothly on various Win8 computers. Did you use the latest version?

Was just googling around for that problem, and found a "compatibility center" on microsoft.com, which even lists HeidiSQL as compatible. Well, that doesn't mean very much I guess:

Also, this applies to HeidiSQL 7.0, not to the current 8.1 .
