Issue when using multiple users on computer

Hi,

I have installed the HeidiSQL software as an administrator on the computer. When another user (not administrator) logs in on the same computer he cannot use the application. What could be the issue and what is the correct way of installing HeidiSQL in this type of scenario, administrator does the install, other user (non-admin) uses the application.

Thanks,

Kind Regards,

Rob

What means "he cannot use the application" ? Is there an error message?

Hi, no error message. It doesn't start. I had to install logged on as the user and user run as administrator to fix the issue.

Does it appear in the task manager as a process?

Hi, I haven't tried this and I cannot check this anymore because I have run the install logged in as the user(non-admin) with the option run as administrator and the issue was fixed.

But what I would like to know how the installation has to be done correctly? Do I need to install for every user on a device separately?

It should install properly if done as administrator. I wonder why there's a difference for you when you run the installer as admin.

hi,

When I install as a local administrator the software, it should work for all new and existing local users (non-administrator) on the same computer?

Yes that's what I meant. Well, you said that didn't work for you, so I'm not sure why and how to fix that.

Hi,

Thanks good to know that it should work. Next step is to try to find out why it didn't.

Thanks a lot !

I suppose we can close this ticket. Don't know yet how.

Kind regards,

Rob
