Scheduled Export of MySQL

Hi,

I'm new to HeidiSQL and very impressed with the package so far, particularly the ability to create and schedule events. Hopefully this isn't a dumb question.

I am able to manually export my database through Heidi but is there any way to set an export up as a recurring event?

That question came up several times already. But no, HeidiSQL has no support for automated exports. I highly recommend to use mysqldump for that purpose, which creates export through a command line. If you start that via crontab or some other task planner, you have scheduled exports.

Thanks, I have been using MySQLDump for backup but Heidi for regular maintenance jobs and its much better to use. I had seen some of the older responses to this question but I was kind of hoping something had changed in the latest one.
