Help on Excel Import

Dear All,

I am a new user to Heidi SQL. Previously I was using MS Access for my works however in the recent days I have started using Heidi SQL since it was very much user friendly and faster compared to Access.

But I have a big problem in using Heidi SQL compared to Access while importing any excel files. Normally when we import any excel files, Access will create the Temporary Table "Paste Errors" if the data in the excel file is not matching table properties or duplicate entries and it will be useful for me to check and close the errors.

However when I import the same using Heidi SQL, there is no error message or "Paste Errors" table created. Could you please help us to understand how to get the table when we import bulk excel files.

Thanks and Regards R. Vadivelan

Hi,

I import from excel a lot and as far as I know you can't see a table of all the errors (anyone?) - it does tell you in the event log area though at the bottom of the screen (have you hidden it?).

The biggest problem I ever face is where characters appear in the excel data that are also used by Heidi to determine the fields, such as the ";/ punctuation marks etc. so you often need to search the excel sheet first to make sure those characters are replaced or dealt with somehow.
