Bug: "Not Valid Win32 application" when running HeidiSQL 10.3 Installer on Windows XP & Server 2003

Greetings,

I would like to inform that I'm unable to install the latest version of HeidiSQL, because i'm greeted with this unusual error (image attached). It seems like that the installer was not compiled to target NT 5.1 and 5.2 it seems, though the latest nightly build executable runs fine. Please fix the issue, thanks =)

I'm not sure. The installer may no longer run on such old Windows versions. The web page says:

Support for every Windows release since 2006, including: Windows 10, Windows 10 on ARM, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista. (No service packs are required.)

However, the next build will use v6.0.3 of InnoSetup, while the HeidiSQL v10.3 installer uses an earlier version. So you could wait for the next build and try again. Or you could download the portable zip file, unpack it and delete the "portable.lock" file from it to make it non-portable for you.

Please try this update: https://www.heidisql.com/installers/HeidiSQL_10.3.0.5774_Setup.exe

Ok, in that case I suppose the installer is no longer compatible to WinXP/Server2003.

What about updating your Windows? You don't get updates for Windows XP as well, do you?

I have my own reasons, why i use them. I guess, I'm going to have to create my own custom installer using InnoSetup 5.x, and using it for fair use.

The portable zip files contain the same stuff as the installer, plus that portable.lock which you should delete.

I just see the InnoSetup script already has some v6 dependencies in it, since August 20 2019, commit:0bffd5dadd0933b19b8684b7a51227f1de58871a

I was thinking I could revert back to InnoSetup v5, but I would have to remove new language files and some more stuff, so I decide not to do that.

Ok, at least this issue is consistent on Wine and Windows :)
