portable_settings.txt very big

Hi guys, my portable_settings.txt is more than 150MB and heidi is very slow to load because of that. I think the big Size is due to history, filters and more... Can't we specify to store all that in another file? Thanks

Are you sure the file contents have the right encoding?

Another user reported of a big one due to a bug in HeidiSQL, which stored the file in Ansi encoding instead of utf-8.

The file is in UTF-8 (seen by Notepad++) But there are binary chars inside If I delete it, i get the same results in a couple of days. Last time it was 350MB. I am using the las verison of HeidiSQL. I attach a picture. Thank you.

Sorry for the duplicate message, I don't know to delete the second one.

That looks indeed like a read-write inconsistency HeidiSQL had before commit:3e7a706caade344ff49768ac2d61db2f247c0abc (build 6231 from 2021-03-03)

Could you please update to the latest build and reset the file?

Ok, I've just updated today. I keep you informed.

Hi, Idid what you told me. The file is very big today and a lot of binary inside.

Did you really update to the latest build? Via Help > Check for updates.

And did you reset the file after updating HeidiSQL?

ansgar I downloaded the last version after my post, but as I see it was not after 03/03/21 I've just downloaded the last nightly 11.2.0.6293 and will test again. I have to manually set all my connections after deleting the cfg file, but I'll do it again and test again. Thank you.
