High CPU utilization

Hi!

heidisql.exe uses constantly about 40% of Quad-CPU power by reading C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\HeidiSQL\tabs.ini about every 3-5 milliseconds

Can something be done about this?

Using Version 11.3.0.6295 (64 Bit) on Win10 But this happend also with previous versions.

You probably have multiple HeidiSQL instances open? If yes, and you have activated the auto-store tabs feature, restrict yourself to one instance. Probably open multiple connections in that single instance.

Actually I have only one instance running. I have a portable version also, that does not show this heavy CPU load. When I start heidi with restore tabs off, CPU load is ok, but as soon as restore tabs is on I get this ~40% CPU usage

I'd say in that case we should examine your settings, as those from your portable differ from the installed version.

Perhaps you could

1. export a settings file, via File > "Export settings"
2. remove sensitive details from the file using a text editor
3. mail the file to anse at heidisql.com
